Wrick… the result was a fillabuster.. and so now Bush may appoint him when congress isnt in session. Which is rediculous but has often been done by presidents.

Thats’s right, W– not only is he not the worst possible nominee for SCOTUS, he’s not the worst possible candidate for anything.

I don’t know – do you think it is fair that he displace Bolton from prize place as the most inappropriate person for a particular position? I remember how gobsmacked I was when I heard that Bolton, who is on public record as
wanting to get rid of the UN, was to be appointed as the US representative to that august body. (btw – did that particular appointment eventually go through?)
