blogging for advanced beginners

today, one question:

Is there some kind of feed for blogspot? I don’t seem to be able to syndicate Radiohumper, or applecidercheesefudge, Matt at the Butcher Shop, or any of you other great blogspotters on my reader. Am I missing something? In case I seem like the slowest girl at the bowling alley, yes, I have been blogging for 6 months and only now just decided to start using a news reader. It suddenly seems like it will make things more efficient.

Thanks for your advice!

UPDATE: Thanks to all for the advice. And I want to apologize if you commented and your comment was inadvertently–recently or ever–deleted by my WP Blacklist or spam filter. Unfortunately, a few days ago, the filter started flagging and automatically deleting a few IP addresses. Dr. Praetorius’s was one. And when I tried to repost what Dr. P wrote, it then rejected my IP.

It took me a long time to get Wordpress to filter anything at all. And now, I am in the position of trying to get it to chill a bit. I think I have it sussed out, but please, please don’t stop commenting. Bear with me. I do have the filter set to email me rejected postings, so at least I should know when it rejects a normal person who is not advertising a c-a-s-i-n-o.

I just started as well, and haven’t figured out all the tricks yet. I wish it would tell me a bit sooner about updated posts, though. This is a job for…Bicyclemark!

Which newsreader are you using Brian? I should have said I am tryout out NewNewsWire Lite. I’m interested if people have readers they like.

Oh no.. I wrote all this stuff, but it had links so your wordpress prolly deleted me. man. bloglines is the bestest feedreader ever.. plus its owned by askjeeves, how cute is that? in bloglines you have the option to just plug in a bloggers name and it will find the feed. Also if you just add /atom.xml to the end of most blogspots, you’ll get a feed. radiohumpers is /rss/paxgitmo.xml
Go forth and feedread.

Oh gawrsh, now I’m embarrassed. I told Bicycle Mark a week ago that you had an RSS question, but I did’t know it was to read MY blog. Sheesh.

I testify to BM’s good intentions, thank you for your support, and implore you that in my case it’s nt worth it. : )

Reader? I thought you just had to go to the blog website?

VC, I use Bloglines as well, thanks to BM’s suggestion.

Butcher–news readers let you know when a blog has updated, although I wish it would do so a bit sooner.

Dr. P’s erroneously deleted comment:

Author : Dr Pretorius
Comment:
I’m not sure what program you’re using to read the feeds, but I’ve had no problem with Applecidercheesefudge’s feed (I use Bottomfeeder). The link – as I’m sure someone has already posted – is http://www.applecidercheesefudge.blogspot.com/atom.xml

Yeah, I do read my own blog’s feed — but I have a blog-partner, so that’s my excuse. Well, that and the egotism.

—Note from VC: if this posts, I’ve got both me and Dr. P off the blacklist.—

Whew, that blacklist glitch was a pain in my RIA.*
I don’t know how the filter managed to add perfectly innocent people to the list, but be assured, dear reader, if the blacklist gets the wrong idea about any one of you, I will set it straight ASAP. Comment with confidence on this site, Friends.

And yes, the real follow-up here is I am digging Bloglines. Not sure why someone suggested NetNewsWire, but Bloglines is the way to go. Matt, the Reader makes it easier to keep up with all your blog and news reading. Try it!
